EPISODE 001: HOW TO WORK SMARTER, NOT HARDER

3 TIPS FOR WORKING SMARTER, NOT HARDER

1. Set clear goals: Find out what goals are important to you and growing your business. Doing this will make it easier to decide how to spend your time. People who work smarter, not harder have clearly defined goals and work towards achieving them.

2. Keep your to-do list short: Creating a to-do list is a great way to be more productive and efficient, but it is important to not let it get out of control. Having a long to-do list is counterproductive. Keep your to-do lists short with three to five important tasks in order to work smart, not hard.

3. Stop multitasking: Multitasking is not an effective way to work smarter not harder. Take the time to focus on one thing, get it done, and then move on to the next.

SECRETS ON HOW TO BE MORE PRODUCTIVE

How to be more productive in your business is by using a timer. It is amazing how much you can achieve when you completely focus on one single task. Just set the timer to your desired time and get to work!

Another way is to take a break from technology. Work smarter, not harder by not interrupting yourself with electronics. Give your brain time to rest by sitting back, closing your eyes, and taking a moment for yourself to be more productive with your time.

Lastly is automating more tasks. Reducing the number of decisions you make a day can help you work smart, not hard in the few tasks you are prioritizing. Get rid of unimportant decisions so you can focus on the important ones.

“The goal is to automate as many things in your day as possible so they require less brainpower.”

HOW TO WORK SMART, NOT HARD

Working smart, not hard is vital when growing your business. This can be done by staying focused even when new ideas come along. Do not stop what you are working on when a new idea pops into your head. Instead, keep a list of new ideas written down to get it out of your brain and stay productive.

Also, understand the value of your time. In order to work smart, not hard, I used the $10, $100, and $1000 tasks matrix. Assign values to your tasks and place them into these three groups based on the complexity of the assignment. Focusing your time on $100 and $1000 tasks and outsourcing the rest displays how you can be more productive in your business. Download a free copy of my Task Prioritizing Matrix below.

CLOSING STRATEGIES TO GROW & SCALE YOUR BUSINESS

It is very important to hire people who are smarter, or just as smart as you are. This is a great strategy for working smarter not harder because you have qualified people driving the business.

“Working with others who are just as smart or smarter than you can push you to solve problems or create products that you couldn’t do by yourself.”

Creating smart habits is how you can be more productive in your business. Find the times in the day where you are most productive and use that time to work on the projects that will get you closer to the goals you set in the beginning.
